Privacy Policy
UnitNinety (“we”, “us”) is a technology practice based in Perth, Western Australia. This policy explains what personal information we collect through unitninety.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. What we collect
In short: what you send us when you get in touch, and anonymous usage data about how the site is used.
Information you give us. If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you choose to write. We don’t run account systems or collect payment details through this site.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the site we collect usage data: pages viewed, interactions such as clicks and scrolling, browser and device type, screen size, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability.
Referral tags. Links we share may include a tag identifying where the link came from (for example, a proposal document). This tells us which introduction brought you here and is attached to usage data, not to your name.
2. How we use it
In short: to respond to you, and to understand and improve how the site works. We don’t sell personal information.
- to respond to enquiries and carry on a conversation you start;
- to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve its content, design and performance;
- to keep the site secure and diagnose technical problems;
- to comply with legal obligations, if any apply.
3. Analytics and cookies
In short: we use Microsoft Clarity to see how the site is used, including session replays, and it sets cookies to do that.
We partner with Microsoft Clarity to capture how you use and interact with the site through behavioural metrics, heatmaps and session replay. Clarity uses cookies set by us and by third parties, and similar technologies, to determine, for example, whether you have visited before. We use this data to improve the site. Microsoft’s handling of this data is described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
You can limit this collection by blocking cookies in your browser or using a content blocker; the site works fine without analytics.
4. Who we share it with
In short: only the service providers that run the site. Never sold, never used for third-party advertising.
We share information only with the providers that operate this site on our behalf: Vercel (hosting, logs and analytics) and Microsoft (analytics, as above). These providers store data on infrastructure that may be located overseas, including in the United States. We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t share it with anyone for their own marketing.
We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
5. Security and retention
In short: sensible protections, and we keep things only as long as they’re useful.
The site is served over HTTPS and we limit access to the systems that hold personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, interference and loss. Emails are retained while a conversation or engagement is live and for a reasonable period afterwards; analytics data is retained under Microsoft Clarity’s standard retention periods.
6. Access, correction and deletion
In short: ask, and we’ll show you what we hold, fix it, or delete it.
You may ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@unitninety.comand we’ll respond within a reasonable time. We may need to verify who you are before acting on a request.
7. Complaints
In short: tell us first; if we don’t sort it out, the OAIC can help.
If you believe we’ve mishandled your personal information, contact us and we’ll investigate and respond. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be at this address, with the date above showing when it last changed. Material changes will be flagged on this page.
